Everything Old is New Again! JetBlue @ JFK

Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen designed that fabulous TWA terminal at JFK back in the early 60's. It was glamourous and futuristic. Remember those smiling stewardesses? and when people actually wore shoes on a plane and not flip-flops?

A couple months back JetBlue opened their brand new T5 building, a Gensler re-design of the old TWA behemoth, that features wide open spaces, tons of natural lighting, new amenities (free Wi-Fi and lots of electrical outlets) all sorts of food and drinking options. 22 dining, bar and lounge options to choose from! Many of them feature menus by famed New York City chefs!

The swanky new terminal has speedy security lanes. One of the largest in the USA at 340 feet long, the security checkpoint at T5 was designed to ensure a smooth, effective experience for all customers. 15 security lanes presently, with up to 20 lanes in the near future. You can order food via a touch screen and have it delivered your gate. There is even a pharmacy here in case you need a liitle pain killer or something! Feeling stress? Get a massage or one of the other spa services! What more can a girl ask for?! You may actually want to arrive a couple hours early for your next flight out!

Twenty-some shops cater to active travelers. There's a Ron Jon Surf Shop and a store called ExOfficio, which sells outdoor adventure gear. A Brighton store offers bright silver-trimmed leather goods (including luggage) as well as jewelry. There's also a Lacoste store and a Borders books. A duty-free shop? Sure. Muji to Go, a Japanese import, sells all kinds of travel needs. So many choices, so little time!
