Adam Lambert Is Number 1

Pre-sales for the forthcoming album from American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert made it jump to number 1 on the Amazon.com sales list Monday, putting the gay singer ahead of new releases by Barbra Streisand, Madonna, the Beatles, and Susan Boyle.

No title has been disclosed yet for the debut album, due November 24. It appears to have soared thanks solely to the popularity of Lambert among fans, according to the New York Daily News.

“What's even more impressive is that Lambert's record label, RCA, never announced that the disc could be pre-ordered, which means that the boom in sales is due to word of mouth,” reported the Daily News.

The album is scheduled to include collaborations with the likes of Lady Gaga's producer, RedOne.
