OPENING THIS WEEK:

Taking Woodstock

The September Issue

While the movie ostensibly centers around diva-in-chief Anna Wintour, the real star of the film is one-time model Grace Coddington, the magazine’s creative director and seemingly the one person who’s allowed to butt heads with Wintour.

Halloween II and The Final Destination

Horror can be hot...

... or not

RED CARPET: Taking Woodstock and Halloween 2 both hosted gala premieres this week.

Emile Hirsch, Ang Lee and Demetri Martin

Ang Lee and the author of Taking Woodstock Elliot Tiber

Margot Kidder at the premiere for The Final Destination

Halloween II director Rob Zombie and executive producer Malek Akkad

POSTER AND TRAILER OF THE WEEK: Everyone’s all agog over the coming-attractions for Inception, the new film from Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) starring Leonardo DiCaprio. It's pretty trippy.

And skating its way into the October 2 slot recently abandoned by another DiCaprio movie, Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island, is Drew Barrymore's directorial debut Whip It, starring Ellen Page as a young woman who finds meaning for her life in roller derby.
