New Music and Naked Blogs From Mika

84705288 Mika made a splash with his last album, Life in Cartoon Motion, as an artist who creates pop songs with infectious melodies and grin-inducing lyrics. Whether he was trying to be like "Grace Kelly" or assuring "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful),” the British import’s happy tunes brought him comparisons to fellow male showstoppers Elton John and the late Queen front man Freddie Mercury.
His new album, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, due in stores and on iTunes September 22, is expected to deliver more sugary and sublime songs, and Mika is eager to share the thrill with his fans, up close and personally.
In honor of the album’s first single, "We Are Golden," the singer invited all his local fan followers on Twitter to meet up for a celebratory drink Monday at the Ground Floor Bar in west London, on him. He arrived at 6:30 p.m. to a crowd of more than 300 thirsty Twitter devotees. Unfazed, Mika threw down his credit card for the £25,000 (approximately $40,000+) tab and said, "I bought my fans a pint to say thanks for being brilliant."
And the gift of Mika keeps right on giving, hopefully in the form of an ample eyeful of the crooner. In another promotional effort, Mika pledged to post a video blog on his fan site in the buff if "We Are Golden" makes it to the top three on the iTunes charts this week. Mika enthusiasts have until Sunday to move the single up from its current eighth position. Faithful fans including gossip blogger Perez Hilton are urging listeners to order several copies of the single to aid the cause.
