'Sex and The City's Gay Wedding

82911063 Much like filming of the original, every sighting during principal photography of the Sex and the City sequel inspires spoiler speculation about the plot. The latest deductive reasoning has frenzied fans feeling certain a gay wedding is in store for some SATC regulars.
It's being reported that production scheduled a wedding shoot at a Connecticut inn with the characters of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda present plus faithful best gay Stanford Blatch and his parents. Also on the scene: fast talker Anthony, played by out comedian Mario Cantone. “All signs point to a gay union between Stanford and Anthony Marentino, who’s required to wear a black tuxedo in the scene,” reports Life & Style magazine. “Slated as the entertainment: Liza Minnelli!”
While a SATC gay wedding would be just fine (can't get worse than the bridal bluebird Carrie donned in the original, right?), there would have to be some believable backstory that led Stanford and Anthony, who famously did not hit it off in the series, down the aisle. Michael Patrick King and the creative crew behind SATC have made an enormously popular franchise off the real, complex, and modern examination of romantic relationships for the four main women of the cast. It'd be a shame for them to shortchange the supporting gay characters with a haphazard union.
Then again, the so-called spoilers and sources could all be proved wrong when the sequel arrives in theaters in 2010.
